Paramedical Tattoo
The final stage in reconstruction after breast cancer, areola tattooing brings a more harmonious dimension and a more natural finish to breast(s) that have undergone several reconstructive surgical procedures.
In partnership with various plastic surgeons, this work is carried out on and around the scar tissue, and is usually done in two sessions about 1 month apart. Several shades, usually 3, are used to recreate a new areola and reduce the appearance of scars through optical illusion.
A step that also marks the end of an often long and intimate journey. A victory over the disease, but also a way of reconciling with one's own body and femininity.
